The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru, which Magnien describes as his "garden" that has technically been around since 1656, has a compelling bouquet with black plum, quince and crushed limestone scents that unfold in the glass. It gains intensity with just a few swirls. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. This is the silkiest of Magnien’s cuvees with a seductive and persistent finish that just seems to "glide" across the senses. There is real panache here. Superb.
