Tasting Notes

The 2020 Mazoyeres-Chambertin Grand Cru has an attractive nose that is quite Charmes-Chambertin in style. It has showy red fruit, sage, bay leaves and cloves. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, taut and fresh, with a keen line of acidity and real elegance and complexity towards the peppery finish. Wonderful. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2028-2055

Blueish crimson. Already quite a subtle nose. Broad fruit and polished tannins. Well balanced and workmanlike. Again, there’s a light note of bitterness on the end and no shortage of fine tannins.
Anticipated maturity: 2030-2045
