The Dario Di Vaira 2019 Bolgheri Superiore (made with a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot) is fermented in cement vats and later aged in oak for 18 months before going into bottle for another 12 months. The wine exhibits an exciting playlist of aromas with blackberry, baking spice, allspice, Indian cumin and autumnal leaf. There are delicate hints of rose water and dried lavender bud that emerge with time. This blended Tuscan red offers opulent fruit, chalky tannins and powerful 15% alcohol. Some 4,500 bottles were made.
