Tasting Notes
Vinous 89-91
(these 65-year-old vines produced fruit with 12.7% potential alcohol): Nectarine dominates the nose, along with a suggestion of muscaty character (there’s 5% to 10% of Chardonnay Musque here) that Colin says will disappear by the end of the elevage. Juicy and energetic, showing strong spicy lift but in need of time to expand and soften. Almost bitter-edged on the youthfully aggressive finish, revealing a distinct white pepper element. In an awkward stage today.
