Tasting Notes
Vinous 93
The 2016 Dalem has an intense bouquet of well-defined black cherry, raspberry coulis and marmalade aromas. The palate is well balanced with juicy ripe black fruit, a fine bead of acidity, plenty of freshness and fine attack on the finish. This is an excellent Dalem and comes recommended. Fronsac at its best.

The owner is about to buy another 11 ha! 50% malolactic fermentation in barrique. Mild, and fruit is privileged over oak. Charming and very round. Maybe could do with just a little more structure. Sweet ink for the moment. Meaty.

Robert Parker 92+
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Dalem (blended of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc) leaps from the glass with notions of warm black cherries, chocolate mint and baked black plums plus hints of star anise, garrigue and cedar chest. Full-bodied yet possessing fantastic freshness and harmony on the palate, it has wonderfully vibrant fruit and a ripe, grainy frame, finishing with a compelling lift.
