Tasting Notes
Vinous 88-90
(almost a normal crop here, according to Charles van Canneyt): Bright medium red. Aromas of blackberry, licorice and crushed rock. Showing limited easy sweetness and flesh but captivating inner-mouth floral perfume and definition to its juicy flavors of dark berries and bitter chocolate. A pungent note of blood orange adds lift. A bit lean and tight in the early going–perhaps slightly hardened by the CO2 today–finishing with a firm dusting of tannins and noteworthy persistence.
