Tasting Notes
Vinous 94
The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Nastagio is a brilliant ruby color in the glass, offering a rich display of crushed black cherries with hints of brown spice and sage, lifted by notes of white smoke, cedar and dried roses that add finesse. It comes across as seductively pliant, as sweet red fruits are quickly contrasted by brisk acids and savory spice, and fine tannins slowly mount toward the close. The finish is long, structured, yet balanced, resonating on tart woodland berries with hints of red licorice and pretty inner florals. It s a gorgeous young wine already, yet with over a decade worth of cellar potential and worthy of its Riserva status.
