Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni NR
In 2013, the Barolo Pie Franco is decidedly austere and tannic. Readers should be in no rush to open bottles, not that that should be a problem. Time in the glass brings out the alluring aromatics that are such a signature of the Pie Franco. Although closed down and not fully expressive, the 2013 is a Barolo of haunting beauty. Readers lucky enough to own it can look forward to several decades of exceptional drinking.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2053
