Tasting Notes
Vinous 92+
(vinified with about 25% whole clusters): Bright, full red, less ruby than the Sentiers. Musky aromas and flavors of raspberry, redcurrant, smoke, spices and white pepper. At once silky and juicy, with superb intensity and energy to leaven its seriously rich texture. Very long, powerful Amoureuses with a strong tannic spine for extended aging.
Robert Parker 90
The 2010 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses has a complex, very appealing bouquet with subtle earthy aromas infusing the well defined red berry fruit. There is a touch of Hoisin here, a drop of balsamic and a slightly Oriental tone. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, crisp acidity and quite a masculine, tobacco-tinged, slightly disjointed finish. It is a very strict and correct Amoureuses, and I would have liked more “Pinoté” to come through on the finish à la more recent vintages.
