Tasting Notes
Vinous 93.5
Good medium red. Knockout nose combines black raspberry, orange peel and spices; as high-pitched in the context of the year as the Amoureuses. Then seductively creamy and lush, with the volume of 2007 leavened by a mineral firmness. Finishes wonderfully broad and firmly tannic, with impressive backbone and lingering sweetness. This very rich, tactile wine needs a good eight years of bottle aging to approach its apogee.

Also racked two weeks ago. Heavy soils. Their bit is equally on both bits of Bonnes Mares (red/brown bit watery and on top marine calcaires). He vinifies both separately but this, as usual, is the blend. Deep crimson. Much more solid and dense than the Amoureuses. Some chestnuts? Lots there, really rich and persistent. Dense dry cherries and bark.
