Tasting Notes
Vinous 95
The 2004 Barbaresco Riserva Rabaja is a super-classic, tightly wound wine that still needs time in bottle. The 2004 isn’t a huge, powerful Rabaja but rather it is built along more nervous, sinewy lines. The expressive searing bouquet and salivating tannins are but two of many Rabaja signatures that are very much front and center. With air, the 2004 is approachable today, especially as some of the initial tension has softened, but readers who prefer the sweeter tannins of more mature, resolved wines will need to wait for at least another few years.
Anticipated maturity: 2016-2034
