The estate’s 2004 Barolo Vigna Rionda is beautifully perfumed, understated and refined, with silky layers of fruit that emerge gracefully from its mid-weight frame. The tannins possess gorgeous silkiness, which contributes in big way to the wine’s sensual, captivating personality. This will be a fascinating wine to follow over the coming years and decades. Roses, spices and flowers of all sorts linger on the impeccable finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2034. Oddero can be hit and miss, but when the wines are on " as they increasingly are " they merit considerable attention.
