Tasting Notes

ID 416040. Particularly generous harvest after the heatwave vintage of 2003 then a long winter and late budbreak. Saved by an Indian summer. Picked 24 and 25 September (Krug usually start with Clos du Mesnil). Bright gold. Intense nose – very Chardonnay. Bone dry and dense. Saline. There’s a whiff of mature Chablis about this. The usual Krug intellectual intrigue and slight austerity. Still a bit of a challenge.
Anticipated maturity: 2019-2028
