Deep garnet. Quite a burnt nose. Sweet palate entry and no evident tannin or acidity. Flattering but ready with a light rusty-nail finish.
Anticipated maturity: 2010-2022

A legitimate sleeper that is still young and rich, this 2003 possesses lots of cassis, earth and mineral characteristics in its smoky, spicy, vibrant, young personality. It has reached its plateau of full maturity where it should remain for another decade. This would have been a great buy in 2003.
Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024

(a 53/47 blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot) Bright red-ruby. Slightly medicinal aromas of cassis, chocolate, licorice, violet and mint. Suave in the mouth, with ripe, moderately intense flavors of blueberry, blackberry and violet. Seems a bit soft and lacking in ultimate grip, but nicely ripe and floral. Finishes with slightly disjointed but ultimately sweet tannins.
