Robert Parker 91
Tasted blind at Farr Vintner’s Left Bank tasting. This does not have a complex bouquet, but the definition is fine, scents of raspberry leaf, plum and cranberry sauce. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, brisk black fruit, good acidity, fanning out nicely towards the finish with cedar, blackberry wine gums and a touch of spice. Good persistency. This is an impressive 2003 Margaux. Tasted October 2010.
Very deep crimson. Sweet, floral, easy, loose. Needs much more structure or acidity to validate it. Pleasant drink but not Margaux.
Anticipated maturity: 2007-2013
