Tasting Notes
Vinous 87
(12.5% alcohol): Bright straw. Aromas of apple, rosemary, wet underbrush and star anise are lifted by a strong note of mint. Clean and moderately intense, with enticing flavors of nectarine, apple and thyme, but a green streak re-emerges in the mouth. Not the last word in complexity, this wine finishes a little thin and cool, with moderate length. Though trebbiano abruzzese usually prefers rainy conditions to hot and dry ones, the 2002 vintage was just too wet (like almost everywhere else in Italy). In 2002 Valentini harvested his grapes on October 4.
