Less clear today, and less fine on the nose: notes of smoke, resin and minerals. Then bright and firm in the mouth, with clearly delineated lemon and pineapple flavors. Juicy and ripe, with almost Chablis-like acidity of 4.5 grams per liter. This is a more reductive style of wine that benefits from the bottling process, says Lafon.

Medium straw colour. Evolved nose of roasted nuts, apple pie filling and dried mango with a faint savory / meaty edge. The medium+ bodied palate still provides a good intensity of dried apricot fruit, white pepper and toasty flavours balanced by a medium to high level of acidity. Long finish. Drink now – 2010. Tasted November 2008.
Anticipated maturity: 2009-2010
