Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 86
The ’96 Cantemerle has a rather leathery, cigar box-tinged bouquet, autumnal with the Cabernet dominating the aromatics. The palate is foursquare in keeping with the vintage, quite austere towards the tertiary finish. Not particularly exciting, but not bad either. Tasted November 2010.

Slightly darker colour than the 1995. Blackish tinge. Lacks a bit of freshness on the nose. Very fully evolved sweet fruit which could do with just a little more acidity though there are still perceptible, slightly dusty tannins. Veering towards rusty nail. Sweeter than most Médocs.
Anticipated maturity: 2002-2010
