Tasting Notes
Wine Advocate 88
Tasted at Roberson’s Gaja vertical. Sadly, the nose is rather flat and mushroomy at first and just as I am about to write it off, it seems to coalesce and become more fresh out of nowhere. With aeration, it develops an intriguing minty bouquet, almost like a mature Australian Cabernet. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, moving firmly into its secondary phase with sandalwood, tobacco and saddle leather. A little tough towards the dry finish but it has length. However, I would not leave it too much longer. Drink now-2015. Tasted October 2010. [Neal Martin, 01/10/2010]
Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015
