Conterno s 1943 Barolo Monfortino is quite good, but this is not the best bottle I have run across. In my experience, once past the 1970s, older Monfortinos are highly variable, mostly because of corks that have degraded and/or poor storage. [Antonio Galloni, 04/01/2015]
