Founded in 1958, the Produttori has 51 members and controls more than 100 hectares of Nebbiolo vineyards across Barbaresco. It is arguably one of the greatest cooperatives in any fine wine producing region in the world. The consistency achieved in the straight Barbaresco is remarkable and its record for improvement in the cellar is legendary.
The Produttori’s own assessment of the vintage is very positive: “All considered, the vintage can be said to be a classic one, with a quality production despite a drop in quantity compared to the previous year.”. Aldo Fiordelli in Decanter concurs and provides the following vintage summary: “The vines sailed through a long, warm growing season with no damage from frost or hail. Hot spells in June and July were followed by a near-perfect harvest. Concentrated, complex wines. 4/5”.
