2019 Piedmont

Welcome to our 2019 Barolo and 2020 Barbaresco offer. We are extremely excited by these excellent vintages, at all levels the wines will provide many years of wonderful drinking. We will be updating this page as more estates release their wines so do check back for new listings. We found the 2019 Barolos to be imbued with great aromatic intensity and lift on the nose, with a wonderful freshness and energy on the palate. They are slightly less alcoholic than recent vintages and show seriously impressive definition. Writing for Jancisrobinson.com, Walter Speller describes 2019 “a classic in the making” and concludes “2019 may be the last time an electrifying, fresh and tannic vintage has been gifted to us in Barolo – at least for the foreseeable future.”. These are must-haves for your cellar.

It is still early days for the 2020 Barbarescos but again, things look extremely promising. The region’s Consorzio concludes the year “can be said to be extremely good with points of excellence”. Antonio Galloni meanwhile in his initial assessment remarks “the best 2020s present a feeling of creaminess and volume that is impossible to miss”, his first notes and scores bode very well indeed.
