The name 'Isole e Olena' came about in the 1950s when two adjoining estates, 'Isole' and 'Olena', were purchased by the De Marchi family and combined to form one. Situated in the western part of Chianti Classico, the high altitude of the vineyards here regulates temperatures imbuing the wines with trademark freshness and elegance.
It was recently announced that the estate has been sold to the EPI Group, owners of both Charles and Piper-Heidsieck Champagnes as well as Biondi-Santi. It will be interesting to see what developments this new investment brings to this beloved winery.
Wines due early December 2022.
